General Politics Thread

I was reading some tweets by my favourite "we're not being paid for the DNC for this propaganda! We're doing it for free!" account Brian Krassenstein, and he was downplaying the whole Hillary email thing. It came to me that the entire email defence was basically Hillary pulling a George Costanza

Yeah. With ridiculously high voices.

They got suspended permanently a few years back after they got caught with bot followers. Then circumvented it by posing as one of their wives. I had been dunking on Brian for several months up until he got suspended and always felt a bit unresolved. Then "his wife" blocked me after I corrected some other piece of misinformation he was posting and it felt really cathartic. :smug:

I get dedicating your life to politics if you are building a platform or a network but to make a career of being reply guys for politics has to be depressing lol

Heck, if that's what you want to do, do it (as lame as it is). But don't do it for free because that's just freaking pathetic.

Do they make any money doing this?
They claim they're not being paid by the DNC but everyone is mashing X to Doubt.

They also have one of those blog platforms where they rattle a tin can for people desperate to read their perfect opinions.

They've also been involved with a lot of questionable businesseses, including some schemes that have allegedly ripped people off thousands of dollars; including some media rag (which blocked me! Yay) that has had to issue more than 5 retractions to Project Veritas.

Yeah they must be getting money from somewhere. There are political whores. lol

You know, this probably would have worked on me about 10 years ago (though some of it might have made me double take). When you know there's a problem, but don't actually understand the actual minutia behind it and go for "big scary thing is the problem!", it's very easy to get sucked into the rubbish.

On a side note, I need to go watch Billy Madison again.

People that don't understand guns shouldn't be lecturing people about them.
I actually had a Facebook friend go on some years back about AR-15s being bad, and citing a lot of bad information, including that perpetuated myth of it being able to fire some excessive rounds a minute.

Given we're both Australian, it's understandable to be a little uneducated about this sort of stuff... what was less understandable is he had actually been around and operated firearms. :piccolopalm:

Education goes a long way. When you pull back the veil on what any given weapon can or cannot do then it becomes decidedly less "scary" for the uninformed. To me now, they're tools like a hammer or a screwdriver.
